About me
I have released small games as a solo dev and have several projects ongoing.
My peers say I'm good at scoping, iterating quickly, and having a clear creative vision. I enjoy helping others achieve the same things.
Experience: 10+ years in the video games industry. Several years as a freelance screenwriter (TV, cartoons, animated movie etc.)
Roles I've had: Localization Editor, Game Designer, Narrative Designer, Game Writer, Narrative Director, Narrative Consultant.
Games: AAA live game (4 years on For Honor, Ubisoft Montreal), narrative games (2 years at ZA/UM on 2 unnanounced projects), mobile and small indies (4+ years as a freelance writer and consultant).
Recent/current works: Completed a research-creation project (PhD) about emotions in narrative games. Teaching Game Design to postgrads. Freelancing for various clients. (Canada Media Funds, indie studios etc.)
Languages: English, French, Vietnamese, Spanish & Italian (working proficiency for these last two). I also know a lil' bit of Latin and Japanese.
Art tools: MagicaVoxel, Krita, Inkscape, Photoshop (basics) etc.
What I need to thrive:
- Safety
- Learning
- Autonomy
What I value:
- Curiosity
- Compassion
- Honesty
How I like to work with others:
- A relaxed way of communicating. Not too formal while staying within the boundaries of everyone's personal preferences and cultural backgrounds.
- Written communication is my favorite, but open to calls or in-person meetings, especially for brainstorming or making formal decisions.
- Giving and receiving feedback on a regular basis.
- Knowing what I need to do, who can take over my responsibilities if anything goes wrong, and who makes the final decisions.
What I cannot work on:
- Projects using generative AI tools
- Stories that promote gun violence or war crimes
