Associate Narrative Director – For Honor, Ubisoft Montreal (2020 – 2022)

WHAT I DID:

  • Written year-long story arcs for a live multiplayer game and designed innovative ways to link content release with story beats (surprise events, collaborative treasure hunt to hint the next releases, etc.)
  • Established robust workflows and practices for the narrative team.
  • Provided narrative direction in collaboration with all departments (Animation, Art, Audio, Gameplay, Localization etc.): Heroes’ briefs and bios, seasons’ lore, etc.
  • Written trailer scripts and promotional briefs in collaboration with Marketing.
  • Participated in the Warrior’s Den, the game’s live streaming show (Twitch/Youtube) to introduce our new releases.
  • I also had various trainings in management, DEI, and sensitivity reading.
  • Spearheaded various DEI initiatives with several ERGs.

WHAT I DID:

  • Written dialogues (responsive dialogue system) and barks for +30 different characters & attended VO recordings.
  • Naming and descriptions: Heroes’ names, movesets, gear, game maps, locations, various game modes, seasonal content etc.
  • Written short stories based on the season’s lore.
  • Extensive historical research about 4 different cultures and myths: Samuraï, Vikings, Chinese warriors, Knights etc.
  • Helped to write tutorials, technical texts and other non-lore texts.
  • Created and written an internal newsletter to share the latest updates about the game’s lore to the entire team.
  • Written lore texts for the Arcade game mode (a semi-procedural PvE game mode).
